She was born in the beginning of the era which was about to witness boon due to scientific advancement. In the month of Adi - Adi is the month when the khariff season starts throughout India the month when agriculture starts. The place where she took birth is the Pandiyan Kingdom where the Tamil Sangam flourished - she had chosen the heart of Tamil literature country for composing her verses where Tamil poets and scholars abounded. The exact place where she was born was the periyalvar's house - Periyalwar had huge followings - it would be easy and possible to spread her teachings to one and all around the globe.
If only every one knows understands and appreciates the gist of her teachings that
- All of us are females before the Lord who only is the Purusha.
- He only is the hope of our salvation, we due to the now newly understood sisterhood principle, we shall forget our differences and find unity in diversity. We shall act as trustees of Mother Earth and stop exploitation of Mother Earth's resources. In fact we must know that she may be having something within her for her future wellbeing and safety. Hence we should not in fact use her unrenewable resources. So also we should not clear forests and decimate habitats of animals (other beings) and use these for our gratification.
This Mother Earth who was born as Andal merged with the Lord at Srirangam which is an island being enfolded on all sides by Kaveri. Srirangam is the center point of Tamil Koorum nal ulagam. Due to our increasing daily chores and craving for name fame fortune we have forgotten Sri Andal. We have failed in our duty of performing Sri Andal - Sri Ranganatha Tirukalyanam Serthi Utsavam every year. The Kaveri beds around srirangam went dry for 2/3 years for the first time in our living memory. We must take this as a warning and correct our path.
We must all unite together and appeal to the authorities to arrange for Sri Andal - Sri Ranganathar Thirukalyanam Serthi Utsavam to take place every year.
Kindly do not entertain any misgiving in your mind about my theory that the Mother Earth is a living entity that she has helped evolution of mankind to be her saviour from external attacks that she took the incarnation of Andal in a remote part (not too much popular) of the southern tip of the Asian Continent to stop mankind from exploiting her internal and external features and work in unison as trustees of Her wealth.
For thousands of years we have kept our culture safe from disintegrating. The same rituals and mantras are used for marriages and seemanthams/upanayanams as they were chanted in the Satya, Tretha and Dwapara eras (i.e in the Vedic period in modern mans version). We have the tenacity to survive when all other cultures have gone into oblivion and cultures elsewhere in the world most vociforous and acclaimed will one day perish when our Sanatana Dharma will rise again too tall as never before and envelope and embrace the entire world in every nook and corner with its message of Universal Peace and Brotherhood. Each one of us will consider Earth one's own Mother. Root out the exploitation manace and act as Knight Templars; only now the secrecy will not be needed. It is our Sanathana Dharma that adores Earth as Mother Earth from time immemorial and no other culture/religion ever considers so.
When I was acting as District coordinator in Central Bank of India, Cuddalore Branch (1996-2001). I had written a letter to the then Prime Minister Sri A.B.Vajpayee on measures to be taken/adopted for our country's prosperity and conservation of natural resources. The copies were sent to the then Human Resources ministers Shri L.K.Advani & Shri M.N. Joshi and Chief Ministers of Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Andhrapradesh and West Bengal. Hence kindly know that this is not a sudden burst of inspiration.
And lastly Sri Andal is your (our) Mother. You need not look to any leader spiritual or political to guide you in this matter. Look into your Inner Self and come to her doorstep to save, serve and adore her.
