Vedhaanthachaarya varyome sannisatthaam sadhaahrudhi II
Vishvasya maatharamakinjanakaamadhenum Visvambharaamasarana : saranam prapadye II
Sri Bhoomidevi is second only next to Sri Devi of all the spouses of the Lord. The Lord took the Varaaha Avataara through his sankalpa (wish). While he was still in the Varaaha Avathaara He married Mother Earth. Bhoomi Devi (Mother Earthi) is kamadhenu - more than a kamadhenu in that while the kamadhenu satisfies any wish of a person Bhoomi Devi showers boons on her devotees - boons of such magnitude which the devotees themselves have never even hoped to achieve by making them worthy of getting such boons : she also avoids giving harmful boons sought by devotees through their ignorance. She is the embodiment of kshama(forgiving nature). So she forgives the devotees of their sins and showers them with boons. I, who has no other place for refuge seek refuge at the feet of the spouse of Sri Varaaha who is also the Mother of all beings.

Sri Bhooma Devi rests her lotus feet on the right shoulder of Sri Varaaha and makes bed of his left shoulder (comparable to Adishesa) her sleeping bed II
.
Due to this her lotus eyes are wide open brimming with pleasure. Both their heads are in close contact which tickles her senses and makes the hair on her forehead sides to stand. May this happy Bhooma Devi bestow upon me all that is good.

The Devi whose milk (coming from her breasts) is the lifegiving water to all beings, whose entire body is land, whose blood is the precious stones who is the Mother to all beings I salute that Bhoomadevi who is also affectionate to her devotees.
